The bones of ankle joint may get bone tumour or cancer from some other part of the body may spread and reach bones of ankle. This occurs due to uncontrolled or abnormal growth of cells in the bone that results in the formation of a lump. Ankle cancer can also originate in the bone marrow, cartilage, and soft tissue. The most common types of cancers are leukemia and multiple myeloma, which form in the bone marrow. Other malignancies that can develop in the ankle include osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma and soft tissue sarcomas.
