The bones of elbow joint may get bone tumour or cancer from some other part of the body may spread and reach bones of elbow. It may be benign or malignant. This occurs due to uncontrolled or abnormal growth of cells in the bone that results in the formation of a lump. Elbow cancer can also originate in the bone marrow, skin, cartilage, and soft tissue. The most common types of cancers seen in elbow are Ganglion cyst, Giant cell tumour of the tendon sheath or epidermal inclusion cyst. Others like lipomas (fatty tumors), neuromas (nerve tumors), nerve sheath tumors, fibromas and glomus tumors, etc. may occur rarely.

Although the exact cause of tumour is not known but it can be associated with genetics, radiation treatment, and injuries to the bones.
